Run/Sports Movement

Assessment

Athletes can experience pain and tightness over time. It can be a result of muscle weakness or tightness, or poor running technique.

Muscle imbalance occurs when opposing muscles (like the quads and hamstrings, or chest and upper back) are not equally strong or flexible. This imbalance can lead to pain, poor posture, and increased risk of injury over time.

What happens during a run/sport Movement Assessment?

  • Exercise History

  • Discussion of pain and movement/sport goals

  • VALD ForceDecks Testing is a performance and rehab assessment tool using dual force plates to measure ground reaction forces in real time. It’s widely used in sports science, rehabilitation, and clinical settings to assess:

    • Asymmetries (left vs. right side)
