
When is the right time to commence pregnancy exercise class?
As a general guide we recommend after 12 weeks during pregnancy. A pre-class assessment with our Exercise Physiologist is recommended if you have not used a Pilates reformer or have any muscle aches/pain. Our exercise physiologist can assess your movement and discuss the current exercise guidelines and recommendations with you.
What does Pregnancy Reformer Pilates Class involve?
The class is suitable for both pregnant and post-natal mums. Our classes allow women to work on individual needs in a small group environment. Elements of rehabilitation and fitness are programmed into each class. The exercises focus on pelvic floor strengthening or relaxing, pelvic/lumbar stability, general strength and flexibility, and breathing. The Pilates reformer is a versatile piece of equipment which allows our instructors to teach pregnant women a variety of exercise throughout their pregnancy. Our classes are Ideal for women wanting to maintain fitness during pregnancy, presenting with pregnancy related pain, and labour preparation.

When is the right time to join a class after having a baby?
At least 6 weeks after childbirth. Before entering classes, it is essential you book for a pre class assessment. Our Exercise Physiologists can assess your core control and your suitability for group classes. Our clinic offers many different class options for post-natal mothers, and we can advise which class is best for you.
